Professor Isabelle WU, received her Ph.D. in Cinema Studies from the University Paris I(Docteur en Arts Section Cinema et Audiovisuel, Universite Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne, France)in 1997. Her research interests and areas of specialization include Contemporary Film theory and Aesthetics, European Film Industries, Gender studies and Film, and Culture Studies in Visual Media. She has published In The Age of Cinematic Thinking (Ed. Bookman, 2007), written book chapters, contributed essays on film aesthetics , and received several National Science Council Research Grants to conduct research projects. She also served as juror in numerous international film festivals (Golden Horse Awards 2013, Taipei Film Festival Jury Member 2013,etc. ).
